a doll's house
a play by henrik ibsen
Common Stage Theatre Lab is excited to announce our inaugural production of A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen, presented in partnership with Merrehope. Originally written in 1879, A Doll's House is a revolutionary classic that established realism as a theatrical form and continues to be a provocative portrayal of a woman suffering in a man's world.
For the first time, site-specific theatre is happening right here in Meridian! The production will be an immersive experience with scenes staged in various rooms throughout Merrehope, Meridian's famous historical house built in the same era as the play. This phenomenon aims to invite the audience further into the theatrical movement for which Ibsen and his contemporaries wrote, Theatrical Realism. Reimagined classic dramas are vehicles that help us share stories with one another and find common ground.
