Tiffany McGehee

CO-FOUNDER & DIRECTOR

Tiffany (she/her/hers) has spent the last 11 years using theatre as a tool to teach and examine. She is a proud AmeriCorps alum, has served as an after school drama specialist in Hell’s Kitchen, NYC, and as a teaching artist for the Tony Award Winning Regional Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. She spends her days planning and coordinating outreach and arts education efforts in Meridian, MS, most notably the Any Given Child Initiative, which received the Governor’s Award of Distinction in 2020.

She spends her nights playing with her 2 and 4 year old sons, kibitzing with her clergy spouse, and enjoying her overgrown, messy, weed filled garden (once again, process, not product driven.)  She received her Bachelors in Theatre from the City College of New York, completed a year of Museum Education Leadership training at Bank Street Graduate School of Education, and is an MFA in Theatre Education Candidate at Mississippi University for Women.

Tiffany is a process theatre and experiential learning junkie. She believes theatre is a tool, a vehicle, a door, a window, and an invitation. Common Stage is her dream car. Her wish is that her time with Common Stage will introduce the people of Meridian to think deeper for themselves and to use theatre as a tool for introspection, reconciliation, and growth.
